I Love the Rain the Most

Once again, I am procrastinating from thesis. Yay. Though, I counted up my pages and I have 46 so far. By the end of the week, my goal is to have 61 pages (by my calculations). That will leave 29 to go (for a total of 90) which is more than 2/3 done. Woo hoo! I'm getting there.

So, my next stumbling block is a job. It's funny because all these people are coming out of the woodwork and are hooking me up with all kinds of help. My friend Paige went to an Alumnae dinner the other night and got to talking to this woman named Jill Gilbert. Turns out this woman is the VP of Creative Affairs at Disney, so Paige told her that I wanted to be a writer, etc. and the woman gave Paige her card to give to me. I emailed her today, and I am hoping that she will write back. Disney has a great apprenticeship program that is very hard to get into, but if hired on it pays well and guarentees work and credits. It would be a great, great thing to get into. We'll see!

Friday, Nat and I leave for our cruise to Mexico. I am so excited. We were looking through all the information today and it looks like it is going to be so much fun. Tons of clubs/bars, a singles night, formal night, dancing, pools, spas... pretty much everything a 20-something single girl could want. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey, but oh well. I think it will be well worth it. I am also excited becuase, despite being a born and bred Californian, I have never been south of the border. I figure Ensenada is a good trip for my first time in Mexico. Better than good ole TJ, probably.

The title of my post tonight comes from a Joe Purdy song. If you are not familiar with him, he is amazing. I discovered him on the Hotel Cafe 2005 Tour CD (great CD). Check him out here. "The City" and "Suitcase" are both amazing. Well, I am off to try and write 7-8 pages of my thesis. That's the goal for tonight. Wish me luck!

It's amazing how many things come out of the woodwork when you're looking for a job. I had a ton as well, but none of them really panned out. My advice for job hunting is be persistant and patient, and everything else will fall into place.
